Damn all the comments here are so positive and inspiring I teared up. Loving the support, and I totally agree with everyone. I agree with everyone, and I want to add that opening a business is really brave, especially right now, and admirable. No matter who you are. Congratulations - it’s freaking amazing! I bet your cakes (etc) are delicious, and I, too, would like to visit when I eventually get back to the UK! If you do a follow-up, can you tell us the name and location?
Honestly, you’re looks are exactly why I would go to your bakery. You sound like a fun person who’s personality would bleed over into their business.
Follow your dreams dude, who cares what your dad says! I would buy bread, cupcakes, cakes or whatever from anyone, regardless of how they looked, as long as your product tastes amazing, which I'm sure it does. bake away my friend!! 👌
Man, I feel you on that. I have long hair, a beard, piercings, and my parents say I can’t be a photographer working with people’s kids and families looking like I should be homeless but I’ve been going 10 years strong. Doing weddings, family, couples, working with kids with a kid of my own and I haven’t had one person comment on my look or how I am in these 10 years of owning my own business with regular families coming back to me for photography. I’m sure you will do great man. Just ignore everyone and show them that you can be successful
i would buy from you proud of you:)
I'd buy your baked goods! I especially like those small round loaves of coarse, multi-grain bread.
If you were able to do this during a pandemic I'm extremely impressed. Ignore your dad.

Is it weird that that makes me wanna buy them from you more? I think you’ll attract more customers because you’re unique in your business
How is baking not manual labour? It is the definition of manual labour and it's a very tiring job. Get your father to spend a day with you at the bakery to show him. By the way, not that it matters but a lot of the most famous bakers on Earth are straight men. EVERYONE likes cake, there is no gender or sexual orientation involved here.
