Brain bug

Today, I freaked out when the remote wouldn't unlock my car. I stood in the rain trying to open the door. Unsure of what to do next, I called my boyfriend. He told me to "put the key in the door…" I'd forgotten about that option. FML

My alarm goes off if I try to unlock it that way after using the remote to lock it.

I've had that problem before, but my key does NOT unlock my doors or even my trunk. if my remote screws up I have to call roadside assistance. it really sucks. no idea why my key only works in the ignition, and no I have no other key to the car.
