Does your university have a policy on hate speech? Does your lecturer indulge in it rather than wink-wink-nudge-nudge stuff? This seems worth reporting for creating a hostile atmosphere.
hate speech isn't real, just because you don't like someone doesn't mean they're spreading hate.
Perhaps. Anyone comes to my home or place of business using derogatory language for any class of people, or acts negatively toward a class of people based on something like SOGI, gets the door.
Report him, why put up with it?
Cancel him. Was that so hard?
Any chance you could transfer to a different section for the same course? I know schedules can be a pain for things like that, but it sounds like it would almost certainly be worthwhile. And be sure to spell out his bigotry (and embrace of nonsense) as your reason for wanting to change sections.
Jordan Peterson isn’t all that bad, he has some conservative views and he’s logical. I’m even gay and I like some of his talking points, everyone is just so damn soft nowadays.
YLS for finding that out but YDI if you do nothing and stay in their class the entire semester.
I will probably get downvoted to oblivion but here it goes… I feel like words ending in ist and phobe are thrown around a little too easily now-a-days but hey maybe they are a phobe. Regardless It might be enlightening to hear arguments and ideas from the other side of the aisle. It is up to you to refute them. I have had profs that I did not agree with (albeit less controversial topics) where we did not meet eye to eye on topics and did not after the course. I still managed to get the grades I wanted without being stifled on my topics to which they did not agree. One bad idea does not necessarily negate a persons whole catalogue of experience and knowledge. The worst people in history drank water too
Jordan Peterson isn't transphobic he just doesn't think government should be able to legally force changes in language and hence culture. If your pych teacher is just emphasizing the power of words to change culture and questions the governments role in that process. Seems like a pretty reasonable topic for a psychology course.
Is your Psych professor a trained and licensed psychologist ? Maybe they know something about the psychology of transsexualism
This is the perfect chance for you to realize not everyone believes in your deluded worldview.
