Today, my mother called me and told me that she went to the hospital. This wasn't a surprise 'cos she normally goes to the hospital for the smallest things. I was a smartass and asked, "What now? You finally have lung cancer from all those cigarettes?" Apparently, she does. FML

Today, in front of a hospital, I noticed that an old lady was having trouble lighting her cigarette because she had Parkison's. So I went to help her to light it up and she then started chatting with me and told me she had lung cancer. FML

Today, I visited my ex-girlfriend's house. I saw her mother and asked, "Hi! Have you recovered from that nasty cold that you had for so long?" She said, "I don't have a cold," to which I smiled and said, "That's great to hear!" Turns out she has lung cancer instead. FML

Today, my friend (she's 14) said she had lung cancer. This made me and my other friend very worried for her, but now we know she was faking it since when she was "at the hospital" she was at a friend's house, and her mom came to the school to confirm she was faking the whole thing. FML

Today, my mom fell and hit her head on our coffee table when walking inside. She tripped on a 1 cm gate rail. She split her head open and there was so much blood. This is the third bad fall in 2 weeks. She still smokes, despite having COPD, and the ER doctor telling her smoking is depriving her brain of oxygen. FML

there are compaigns, ribbons, and walks for every cancer besides lung cancer. why? because lung cancer is caused by stupid people

Nobody deserves a sick family member. It's not like the OP meant to insult her mother! By the way, OP, I hope she'll be okay. She doesn't deserve it, even though she did smoke. I agree that it's a horrible thing to do, but come on... cancer? But don't worry too much, my aunt had a friend with lung cancer and she lived for thirty years after she was diagnosed. Maybe your mom will be lucky too.

Yeah Your life Sucks. my mom smokes to, and with her health issues you'd think she wouldn't. and its gotta be hard finding out your mom has Lung cancer after making a stupid joke like that. but Im sure she knows you didn't mean for it really to happen and that you where just a bit frustrated with her visiting the hospital so much. and I wish you and your family all the best and your mom a speedy recovery.
