Today, I found out I have a restraining order against me from my ex boyfriend. Apparently, I drive by his house too much and it is considered stalking. He forgot that I live 2 houses down, and MUST drive by his house to get home. FML

Today, I had a restraining order put on me. I have apparently been following a woman's daughter home after she leaves track practice and parking my car outside their home. I'm a math teacher at the school and leave everyday at 4:30. I have lived across the street for the past six years. FML

Today, my husband's ex-girlfriend is getting a restraining order on him. Turns out, for the past 2 years of our marriage, he has been trying to contact her and ditching work to stalk her. To top it all off, he told me not to come to court with him because he doesn't want her to see he downgraded. FML

Today, after almost a year of dating and getting dumped out of the blue, I found out my ex-girlfriend wants to get a restraining order against me. I guess dropping a box of her things on her porch after she wouldn't answer her phone is considered stalking. FML

Today, I ran into my ex-boyfriend on campus. Upset, I decided to go to McDonald's to eat my painful memories away. While in the drive-thru line, I realized my ex was right in front of me. It looked like I'd followed him all the way from campus. He thinks I'm a stalker now. FML

I still can't figure out why people here don't ask themselves "Why would he get a restraining order against her unless he really had a reason to hate her?". I know some guys become real assholes if their girlfriend breaks up, but getting a restraining order as a revenge shows this guy is smart. An idiot would have slashed her tires, thrown eggs at her window, threatened her, or something else... Anyway, he would had chosen a more direct revenge. This is too subtle for a revenge, I think it's very likely the guy is too smart to become a dick just because he's upset about the break up. Seems to me like he really has a good reason to do this. Maybe the OP didn't do something to deserve a restraining order, but she probably did something bad to him. Anyway, I'm not claiming I know the exact situation. My point is just this: don't bitch at the OP or her ex boyfriend. We don't know the full story. But if you're gonna bitch at any of them, bitching at the OP is obviously your best bet. And yeah, as someone said previously had OP been a guy there's a very high chance people would had bitched at him. Sexism against men is as bad as sexism against women. Or did the french community migrate here? There are a lot of comments like this on the french part of the website. Comments were much better before we had to create accounts to post stuff.

You would have received a court summons if someone was trying to put a restraining order against you. So either this is a fake post or somebody told you a lie so you wouldn't go near him lol. But it is possible to get a restraining order against someone who lives very close to you. I had one against someone who lived about 4 houses away from me.... but like I said, he was summoned to court and by law he has to be fully aware of the restraining order circumstances.
