Today, I was pulled over for not having my car inspection up to date. I had my car inspected two weeks earlier. Since I'm at college my sticker was mailed to my home. My mother didn't want to pay the 42 cent postage, so now I have to pay $250 because my mother is cheap. FML

dispute the ticket, if you can, and see. If not, make your mother pay for it. That was not responsible of her.

um, no. get your inspection and walk into the police department. it will be a $25 filing charge. no ticket.

If you go to the court house with your renewal sticker and dated material they will only charge you a small fee which is usually less than $20.00. Good luck.

Make your mom pay it, plus send you the sticker and documentation. Maybe they'll let you off the hook if you bring all your paper work proving you had it inspected before the ticket was issued.

This actually happened to me too, except it was a $50 ticket for not updating my plate. Whoo Illinois!
