Today, my ex got arrested for stealing. His new girlfriend texted me asking if I could lend her money to bail him out. FML

Don't even get sucked into that shit. Not worth it, clearly.

He sounds like the gift that keeps on giving ... not in a good way.

Say yes, then give her Monopoly money when you see her. Ex or not, I would be very reluctant to bail anyone out of jail unless I really trusted them. Even then, I would only do it they really hadn't done anything wrong, which is rare so I doubt I'll ever be in that position. I wouldn't want the responsibility or risk of having to pay if someone skipped bail.

All of you are assuming op and her ex are on bad terms, perhaps they had different intentions and goals so they broke up? Maybe op is just saying this cause she wants to lend the money but is annoyed or upset with her exs actions? But forget all of what I said, this is fml obviously her ex beat her and cheated cause we automatically assume the worst on this app

We're not necessarily assuming anything. Even if they are in good terms, whenever someone calls you for bail money, it's pretty much an automatic FML. If their NEW significant other calls you for bail money, it's like adding insult to injury, no ? And if they were caught stealing on top of it ... **** , that's another level of FML altogether.

Sounds like he's her problem now. Perhaps you should change your number.
