Today, I saw some servicemen sitting outside a café, and I went over to thank them for their service. They waited till after I was done shaking their hands before they told me that they were just actors on their lunch break. FML

I know! It's really stupid to thank the people who put their lives on the line and get very little in return. Why the hell should we thank them for defending us? Why do they deserve that? The reason you two are going to get thumbs down is because you're clueless ******* morons who don't deserve what those people in uniform are defending. **** you both.

You know OP, it's people like you who made me proud to serve. Every time some one came up to me to shake my hand, or thank me for my service, I teared up a little. So, even though they were actors, thank you for the respect you've shown us.

Why wouldn't you thank actors for their service? They sacrifice for you, too. While servicemen protect your safety, actors protect you from boredom and actually having to speak to your date. Thank you, thespians!

I agree that service people deserve our respect, but "interrupting someone's lunch" seems like the opposite of that to me. Would anyone actually appreciate that?

#33, My boyfriend just got out of the marines and I can tell you, every time that we were interrupted by someone expressing their gratitude for his service while we were eating a meal he damn sure did appreciate their words of gratitude.
