Today, I was in a public restroom when my almost-two-year-old figured out how to open the door and run out. Half-a-dozen strangers watched me scramble to pull up my pants and moon everyone before running after her. FML

Why was the child in the bathroom stall with you? I've seen people do that (lack of someone to watch the kid) and it never turns out well.

You think it's better to leave a 2 year old outside the stall? If the kid ran off the parent wouldn't even know

Because yes, every parent out running errands with their kid, has a handy dandy child minder they can pull out of their pocket when nature calls. Leaving a toddler outside the stall while you go to the bathroom is just asking for more trouble. They like to explore! inside the stall at least, you can keep an eye on them, and perfect the ninja, kick leg out while peeing, to hold stall door closed, when kid decides it is the perfect time to try and open it.

This reminds me of a For Better or For Worse comic strip I once read, except the mother in it had just tried on a really ugly bathing suit. :)
