Clever girl

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was in a public restroom when my almost-two-year-old figured out how to open the door and run out. Half-a-dozen strangers watched me scramble to pull up my pants and moon everyone before running after her. FML

I think in this case people will understand. I was leashed as a child to prevent my running off.

The question here is why did these strangers keep watching? That's just creepy!

its like a train wreck... you just can't look away sometimes

I want to know this and want to know why no one stopped the kid for her!!!!!

I know if I see a kid running off and a parent trying to get them I'll slow down the child by jumping in front of them or something but I'll never touch another person's child. Too many sue-happy people out there.

You should get a kid leash or harness/leash for your child. As a present for my friend when her first born turned one I bought a harness/leash set that was also a backpack and toy for the kid. Both him and her loved it and she says every time they go out he can't wait to put it on.

what the hell is wrong with you people speaking of kids leach O.o they are no animals. I find the idea of imposing this to my kids very repulsive. It's a kid, of course they get a little bit excited, but it's part of the fun and it's just a pass.

#37... No... No, not really. "It's a kid" sounds better than "they're a kid" in that context, at least to me anyway. Nothing wrong with the way they worded that.

Some kids need leashes. Those who are autistic, visually impared, impulsive. There are leashes that are cute, looks like backpacks or have a stuffed animal strapped on their backs.

Kiddie leashes serve to make sure the child doesn't run off and get lost/ kidnapped or even run over by a car. It's not to make the child out to be an animal, it's to protect the child from harm.

It really depends on the child. Some kids are well behaved and others will disappear and run off when given the opportunity.

I am against a child leash! I have 2 kids and both have tried to unlock the restroom stall but when i said no don't do that they left it alone... if you as the parent are in charge you don't need a leash! Now if you are one of those parents that your child is in charge them you might be doing something wrong. However some children it makes sense... for instance some autistic children a leash/backpack might be a great idea.

i agree with you. well there may be some exceptions, but for me a parent who uses a leash simply haven't raised his kid(s) properly... i'm sorry if i'm insulting some people here, it's simply my honest opinion. just like parents giving meds for hyperactivity when the kid could clearly live without it.

not exactly the kinda image you would wanna leave on strangers at a public restroom
