Commission demon

Today, on my second day at my new job, my supervisor told me that I was ready to make a sale on my own. Things were going well, until said supervisor interrupted my sales pitch, apologized on my behalf for being new, and stole my sale. FML

So unprofessional! Best revenge is to become a better salesperson than him.

Holy shit. At least you know why so many sales people are territorial as hell when it comes to a customer. good luck in dealing with that jerk.

Well, given that your supervisor said you were ready to sell by yourself, I don't think he's (or she's) out to get you. If he was wanting all the sales for himself, he would have just had you shadow him for a week or something. In this case, you might have either been going overboard with your sales pitch, or you might have been giving the customer the wrong information- I've previously taken over sales (we didn't work on commission) if a new person was telling the customer the wrong thing, as that could really bite the company in the ass further down the track.

You should've stop it as soon as you saw it happening. I've been in sales before. I've never let that happen to me, even when I was new.

Maybe you weren't doing as well as you thought?

Looks like your supervisor makes you learn in a hard way.Don't worry, people who you are working with are usually very nice and helpful and will never mean to hurt you
