To everyone saying it isn't his fault but his mother's: It was the fault of both. It happened because they both participated in it, knowing it was wrong. The mother should have remained royal to her marriage and he could have as well just found another woman who wasn't married. The FML here is that he had to be handed his diploma won with years of work from the man he hates so much after playing a role in destroying his family, although obviously he isn't the only one responsible, it's still frustrating.

Your mother slept with him, yes he may of known about her having a partner.. But your mother is the one who cheated on your dad. I hate it when people blame the other person solely.
