Today, after constant avoidance, I saw the man who slept with my mother and caused my parents to get divorced. I desperately wanted to punch him in the face, but instead I had to smile and shake his hand as he gave me my diploma. FML

I don't know the detail but why would you punch him in the face ? That's wrong. Your mom love another man, it's their choice, their life, her decision too. There is no such thing as "fault", sometime love fade, became dull, then there is no point staying together. Throw a party for your diploma :)

It's also wrong to cheat. If there is no love left in the relationship, then end it properly. You shouldn't just move on to someone else while you're still in a relationship.

I completely agree with you, but, in my experience, it's not as easy as we think for numerous reasons. However, based on the fml, i would never go as far to punch him nor calling him responsible of divorce. I think OP should tell about his feelings with his mom, or someone else.

ooh i feel so sorry that your willing, able, human mother was seduced by a man other than your father. it is all his fault that she willingly chose to sleep with him and thus ruined a marriage!! oh the humanity

That sucks but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that your mom slept with him just as much as he slept with her.
