Today, after constant avoidance, I saw the man who slept with my mother and caused my parents to get divorced. I desperately wanted to punch him in the face, but instead I had to smile and shake his hand as he gave me my diploma. FML

I wouldn't say op deserves it, but they also seem to want to pin everything on this guy. He was NOT the reason for the divorce, op, he's just the one that you aren't emotionally attached to so you can have an easier time blaming him. Unless you are willing to hit your mother, you are hypocritical to be willing to hit him. Your mother was the one who promised to stay loyal to your father, not him.

I could understand YDI votes for one simple reason. OP makes it out that this guy was the sole reason his parents got divorced, instead of blaming the cheating mother.

This man didn't ruin your parents' marriage. That was all on your mother. And believe it or not, your father MAY have contributed to her looking elsewhere. I do understand your resentment though. And congratulations on your graduation.
