Today, my bosses pulled me aside and said to me they appreciated me for being such a hard worker, and told me they had something for me. They gave me a one year pin. Today was my 3 year anniversary. FML

Bad enough for them to give you a token gift akin to the medallions they give in the AA, they gave you the wrong one. Seems like you'll have to remind them everyday how long you've been working for their company. "Hello, my name is Anonymous and I'm a workaholic."

Unless they give out a 1 year pin every year until a major milestone, obviously they screwed up either out of stupidity, ignorance, or laziness. My money is on laziness… While recognition is always good, worthless or inappropriate rewards can be worse than nothing. At least it wasn’t the “pocket lint” award (Dilbert reference).
