clearly ur a ****** moron!
You do realize that Ivy Leagues have incredible financial aid, right?
Gotta be a woman. YDI x10000000 for being so stupid. Where there is a will, there is a way.
YDI x10000000 Gotta be a woman. Where there is a will there is a way. Don't worry though you obviously don't belong there if your not ambitious enough to at least try to make it happen. Congrats.
I think you should have at least tried to figure something out if you really wanted to go to one of those ivy league schools. Not that you said you did, but the fact that you applied shows some interest. You could have tried to get a few scholarships, take out a few loans, which, unless you're a millionaire, you'd probably have to do anyway, even if it's just a little bit. I wouldn't have thrown them out. I would've tried to figure something out. However, it was nice of you to think about your mom before yourself, but you still should have told her.
absolutely positively a TOTALLY FAKE posting. total bs. who could POSSIBLY believe this crap, and most of all, WHO WOULD POST THAT FACT ON FML? you would think that would be the biggest secret ever. Stop wasting our time with these idiotic fake postings. there are things called scholarships, and you might consider seeing a shrink for these feelings of guilt, or at least for putting up fake postings.
OP. Congratulations on your acceptances, you must have worked very hard for them. You could be honest with your mother and have a very long talk. If at the end, you are interested in attending those institutions, perhaps try to transfer in at the end of your first year, if you are unhappy at the college you ended up selecting. Who knows, it may have been the right choice for you for the wrong reasons. While you may have been a little rash about the situation, I would not say this is an FYL or a YDI. Best of luck and enjoy yourself at school. :]
So what? Doesn't mean you have to throw them away. Dumb move. If she was disappointed in you for not getting into a better college, chances are she wouldn't have bitched about the tuition. And even if she does, at least she knows that you were accepted and you can jolly well go to a different school. I would call bullshit, but people are this stupid nowadays so who knows.

YDI for not talking to your mom and throwing them away. If you can't afford it, there's always financial aid...
