Could be worse. I'm 21 live at home still but work 50 hours a week while going to school full time. Both my parents are unemployed and sit on their asses playing their laptops while screaming at me to clean when I need sleep.
Damn that's awful. Hops one day you get a high paying job so you can get a decent place to live in.
I'm a full time student so I stay at/around school so that I can actually hang out with people and do stuff
Just so we're clear: you're a 20 year old college student who cannot figure out how to plug in a modem? Or is it that you're offended that they thought that would stop you?
or the fact that its their ****** internet so the op has no right to turn it back on, which they didnt and actually respected?
@18: The OP said "disconnected" not "restricted"
You'll probably have a better future than them...they have no respect...
their comment is really ironic
How exactly did they cut the Internet?
Parents, can't live with them, can't live without them.
I'm assuming these people are paying for your college and providing the home you are currently visiting. Try spending time with them, instead of avoiding them (even if for productive reasons). Yeah their response is childish, but you clearly hurt them. You come off as ungrateful here, OP.
But OP is 20, so they could have sat down with him for a minute and try to have an adult conversation with him. To tell him that they would like it if he comes to their friends house to spend some time with them.
Exactly the parents are either huge jerks. Or when they asked OP to dinner. OP got annoyed and snapped a rude reply at them. Then things escalated. I'm sure any parent knows their child in college, has assignments to do. They could be punishing OP for their lack of respect.
You should have gone to the dinner. I don't think that arguing with your parents over something irrelevant, such a dinner with their friends is wise; especially if you are just visiting them; unless that you have personal issues with your parents' friends.
really a hissy fit?
