1: Their house their rules. 2: If you don't like it move out 3: If you can't afford to move out, refer to #1
Did you just completely gloss over the FML's last sentence?
Wow, that sucks, OP. I don't understand what would prompt your parents to react that way. I hope that you can get through your visit more civilly, but perhaps you can consider spending your break elsewhere next time if your parents are going to treat you that way. Personally, if it had been me, I would have found somewhere else to go while they were gone and said the hell with them, but I don't know your exact circumstances, so I'll just say good luck!
Sounds like a lose-lose situation. I suppose that had you gone to dinner they would have then later on bitched you out over not pulling your weight and helping with chores.
Some parents I read about on FML make me sick to my stomach. Sorry OP!
You kinda are being disrespectful. It's dinner. You can do laundry in a couple of hours or tomorrow. It'll still be there when you get back...
First world problems. Get data...and if you dont have internet then how did you post this?
Whipped haha
Lesson:You don't mess with parents, cuz everybody knows valid reason or not we can't win.
I would say the answer to the riddle is obvious - they didn't believe you really needed to do chores and figured you were just staying home to avoid their friends and goof off online. Plus they probably felt humiliated at the thought of having accepted on your behalf and having to explain why you'd choose to stay home rather than come out when study wasn't the reason. I get where all of you are coming from, it's really a lesson in seeing things from others' viewpoints. Maybe you should have been more sociable, but then if they accepted on your behalf, they need to remember you are an adult and can decide for yourself where you go.

Welcome home!
Could be worse. I'm 21 live at home still but work 50 hours a week while going to school full time. Both my parents are unemployed and sit on their asses playing their laptops while screaming at me to clean when I need sleep.
