Today, I had to sit and listen to the guy in the next cube brag to his wife about the promotion he just received. The promotion my boss told me last week that I was going to get. FML

the promotion wasn't meant to be for you- that's all God hasslmwthing better in store for you. but for now keep working har and maybe another promotion will come around or even keep your eye out for a better job. and PS- if u got the promotion I am sure u would call your family and tell them all about it. so don't hold resentments against your coworker for calling his wife. he has every right to be happy.

god has nothing to do with him not getting it. he proabaly slacked off because he thought he'd just get it then the other person kept working hard and succeeded in getting it.

Exactly. In a nice humble way, confront your boss and ask them directly. Then, staple his nuts to his desk, squirt lighter fluid on his crotch, and light.
