Today, I was laying in my bed and discovered a couple of stray black hairs scattered about. This was odd considering I have light strawberry blonde hair but I forgot about it only to later see my hair brush have more of the same black hairs. I live alone. I'm scared. FML

This sort of thing happens more often than you'd think, and take it from someone who knows, there's little more terrifying than waking up in the middle of the night and hearing someone breathing heavily next to your bed. I was just a little kid when this happened to me, so I just tried to stay still and pretended to be asleep. Though, this wasn't an isolated incident... Before this happened, I would often hear footsteps and the creeks of doors opening and closing during the night. We also noticed that certain items would move places and sweets often went missing; I suspected my brother was the culprit, but he always denied it and blamed me instead... He called me a greedy ****. Anyways, it turned out someone small (probably a child) was living in the tight crawl spaces between the walls of the old, early 19th century house that we were renting out. We only stayed there for 2 months before moving the hell out. TL;DR: RUN, OP! RUN FAR AND NEVER LOOK BACK! D:

There is a difference between red and strawberry blonde hair

as another lady born with strawberry blonde hair, there is a HUGE difference between it and red hair. if you actually saw my hair you wouldn't think red at first at all. ScarJo has (natural) strawberry blonde hair, Isla Fisher has red hair.

Strawberry Blonde is more pink toned. There is a difference.

as a hairdresser, yes there is such a thing.

change all your locks. and get window locks as well. get an alarm system. change the code weekly. and get cameras for the hose inside and outside. motion activated flood lights too. better to be safe than sorry. plus even if it turns out to be nothing you still have protection incase anything else happens

Here are a few plausible causes: A sweater that is black and 'furry'(I've had a few) You pet a cat or dog and didn't notice the hairs on you You had a friend over that sheds a lot You have a few black hairs you've not noticed I doubt someone is skulking into your room without you noticing something amiss in your home....

Happens more often than you think, especially with property that is rented. A former tenant makes an extra key, and works around the schedule of the new tenant to still live there but not pay rent. Usually the only signs are missing food, shed hair, clothes that don't belong to the new tenant, household bills that are higher than expected, and maybe some trash left around.

.....I don't even have a witty response to this. I just......can't

You could thoroughly clean your brush and sheets and pay attention to whether the hairs return, that would reveal whether anyone is breaking into your house and using your stuff. In the meantime, I'm hoping it's just that a family member secretly borrowed your brush while visiting or something like that.

Ginger... Don't be trying to cover with this "Strawberry blonde" nonsense. Hope you're still alive OP!

This sounds like one of those one paragraph horror stories you see floating around on social media in October.

I have highly blond hair but there are definitely black hairs in between! probably just your own hairs
