the funniest part about feminist is they say all guys are sexist, when that in itself is a sexist remark.
Holy crap, the guy was being POLITE. It's not sexist, it was really sweet of him to offer. He was only trying to be nice. Shame on you. And if it really bothered you that much, why didn't you just offer to split the bill instead of throwing a fit?
YDI for being a dumb bitch. get outta my province
he was probably being polite. You dont know the whole situation. But if the only reason she didnt want him to pay was because she thought he was being "sexist," (i think women toss that phrase around to get away with stuff) than shes an idiot. Im a girl btw, so even I think she looked stupid.
Do you people realize that in order for them to get into a heated argument over it the guy had to have been refusing the same favor you are giving her shit for? If she explained to him that she would feel more comfortable paying, and he refused to allow her to do so, there is absolutely something wrong with that. That's not doing her a favor, that's being more concerned with your ego than with the needs of your partner. So why is it OK for him to refuse to allow her to pay, when it's not OK for her to refuse to allow him to pay?
It's okay for either of them to want to pay. Not my point. There's just this point where femminism becomes so annoying and over-rated and exaggerated that people get really fed up dealing with it. This chick seems to me like a prime example. Her date made the offer first, like most girls would EXPECT him too. So many are offended when the man DOESN'T pay, thinking he's not a gentleman, and others are offended when he DOES because it's a "double standard". Femminists aren't going to get anywhere like that. In fact, there's nowhere to GO. Sure, there's double-standards, what does it matter? There are roles men and women play, and there's nothing wrong with that.
There are plenty of situations in which double standards matter very much. For example, most health insurance companies will cover erectile dysfunction medication, but they will not cover birth control, even in situations where the birth control is used as treatment for painful cervical cysts and other medical abnormalities. So why is it more important for a 70 year old man to have unnatural erections than for young women to prevent unwanted pregnancy or treat medical issues? Why are men STILL paid so much more for performing the same jobs as women? These are real and important issues that effect our everyday lives. They are based in fact. Add on to those the innumerable instances of objectification and outright rudeness that we face regularly that can not be displayed on a statistical chart, and you will understand why these double standards matter. I'm not one to fight against chivalry, but I will stand up for real feminism, and direct those readers who do not understand what that is to the nearest dictionary before they spew their ignorant hatred.
GUYS RULE GIRLS DROOL! HAR HAR HAR =)
wow your a dumbass.
YDI Really, he tries to be nice and you automattically think it's sexist? Hope next time you do this it happens to you yet again.
HAHAHAHA! i hope you had to clean the restuarant dishes. that's embarrassing.

girl, it's just polite, classy, traditional. get over yourself it's nothing to get in a heated argument about, either. come on, if you offer to pay half and he declines, accept graciously. it makes you seem like less of a bitch.
Wow...there's really no need to get into a heated argument about it.
