Denial

By twinArmageddon2 - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - El Cajon

Today, I told my dad I'm pregnant. His response? "It's only a phase, you'll get over it." FML

Most people get over that phase in about 9 months. Good luck to you!

#1, 3, and 6 are right. I suspect your dad has a rather dry and/or sarcastic sense of humor. That makes me laugh, and most of my friends wouldn't get it either :)

#1, actually, there's a way to "get over it" sooner, but mentioning it would get the comments deactivated immediately.

Not really perdix.......STAIRS.....easy way out :)

Sorry... My account logged me out for some reason and I was.attempting to see if I was logged in again. Didn't mean to interrupt!

Take care OP. Since you just found out, there's probably around 7 months to go from now. Hope you have a healthy little one :)

Did you see the documentary about the woman who was pregnant for 40 years?

Obey_StudBoii 23

Yes #1 because pushing a baby out of your ****** the size of a bowling ball is the most easiest thing to do.

Well #52, lets be realistic here, if her ****** is the size of a bowling ball like you say then I would think that it should be no problem pushing a baby out.

And then about 18-25 years of "Mom we are out of food!" "Son why is your keyboard sticky?" "OMG! Kevin just like totally dumped me!"

78 - You don't know much about the female reproductive system and anatomy, or pregnancy and giving birth, do you?

in all fairness, #52, #1 did not say it was easy, just that she will get over the phase. which is true, you just then move on to new phases.

Well, technically, it IS a phase... A pretty long, baby-giving phase, but still a phase...

I just wanna know how old OP is and if that's why her dad is in denial. Off topic: I like your username, OP.

Haha don't worry you can wash that out with a little soap and warm water. What kinda response was that?! He might as well have said, "Don't worry I went through that too."

40 weeks which is actually 10 months, not 9... Good luck OP!!

This pun had such little relevence to the fml that I even double checked to make sure that this kid wasn't from Egypt. You're not the sharpest lightbulb in the crayon box are you?

When her water breaks, you could count that as a river. Since he thinks it's just a phase, he'll have to rationalize the puddle as a newly formed body of water while his daughter gives birth.

And, AND, you'll feel pretty stupid if OP ends up giving birth in Egypt..

Um...isn't the saying "De Nile isn't just a river in Egypt"? Your comment barely makes any sense as it is.

^thats the correct saying, it's from the movie "the new kid"

This comment would have made sense if you know, they were actually from Egypt, but that's just me.

I hope it's just denial and not his way of saying 'I don't give a shit'

aliciaanomalyyxo 12

I agreed with the original comment but felt the need to say so instead of pressing the thumbs up button which is what it's there for

No sweat, just making sure my opinions are heard by displaying them loudly on the forum

Yeah, watch, he'll care when you squeeze it out, trust me.

They're basically the same thing but one has a pulse.

I may be a man but I'm pretty sure that's not how it happens. God damn sex-ed for teaching me nothing

I would have preferred not to have just read your comparison of childbirth and the popping of a pimple :/

one involves pushing and squeezing and trying to find the right spot to push and squeeze harder eventually resulting in the gory bloody expulsion of the the inner package that has been growing over time possibly leaving the surrounding landscape of your body bruised and scarred and forever changed, the other is giving birth

Well he is your lusus, he wouldn't understand...

For those who don't know, she's referencing Homestuck, a web comic that OP is a fan of (twinArmageddons is Sollux's trolltag). Lusi are monstrous creatures vaguely similar to parents.

Well he's right, you will "get over it"...
