Well, manga is manga. Sorry you ended-up buying her an ecchi/hentai. (that's the genre) °~°"' How do I know this? I draw manga... He-he...
wow sad...that was kinda dumb of u to do that...no offense . I dont get how your sister knows what manga is but you don't.
if your sister doesnt want it can you send it to me? lol
LOL, I like manga too. When I was eleven, my dad did the same thing as you, and i ended up with a fetish manga where an old man was screwing a teenage boy and it showed all the internal organs... eugh...
too bad it wasn't some Yaoi instead O.o lol
you probably have learned this by now but MANGA=/= KID FRIENDLY
Actually, considering all genres of manga and anime, ****-related stuff only makes up 10% of the ENTIRE subject, maybe less.
The bookstore near my house has the area where there's a curtain on a doorway that's largely marked "ADULT SECTION." But then again, I'm a Japanese living in japan, so things are probably different where OP is from. But all those comments saying manga is all just perverted shit pisses me off. I'm no anime fan, but here in japan, anime is huge, obviously. We have this channel on tv called "kid's station".. All that Naruto, pokemon, Detective Conan stuff are on there. I used to watch it like crazy(really liked "Kekaishi") . Anyway, point being, so much of anime is directed at kids. Not all of it's hentai. But it's true you can find a lot of messed up shit in hentai comics. Can't deny that. As for OP, I agree with most of thef people above. YDI cuz I'm sure there was some sort of warning label on the cover.

I think you should have looked. That's what I would've done.
Everyone's gotta see naked girls sometime. But you could've [should've] asked a sales person if you've never bought Manga before. Or at least found one age appropriate. Sure you didn't get the color code, but you could always ask. Or flip through it. Or the old "ask her what her favorite is". At least you know she read it? I get books all the time when people are like, "Oh, you like fiction right? Here's these books about wizard-wannabes." I never read them.
