I don't believe this is true. If it is explicit it says so by the plastic wrap and a sticker on it or some type of adult warning label. There is no way that you wouldn't be able to tell that it was adult. And since you typed this FML I assume you can understand english so you have no excuse. It is pretty much the same as writing "My sister loves fantasy movies so I went to the store and bought a porno by mistake."
ydi for being to lazy to open the cover and take a look at it first
that's why you get mangas with the cute covers and check the ratings of them :D it's ok, you didn't know though ;p
Honestly... sometimes it is hard to tell what manga is what. I bought a series that I absolutely adored the first novel on, going to the second or third it ended up being yaoi with absolutely NO WARNING. i was pissed, im not a yaoi fan. so i agree, your life is ******. I read manga and sometimes I can't even tell however, usually if it's wrapped, it's bad. XD at least where i live.
I can see how you'd be pissed. I'm watching 07-Ghost right now; it's a good story, but the bishonen is a bit much sometimes -- I'm not interested in looking at pretty boys. I had an ex-girlfriend who was into yaoi big time; what female otaku isn't? I bought her this manga I knew she'd probably like - this weird one between a guy and a dog; the dog can turn into a man. You get the picture. She loved it. We weren't together for long after that, for different reasons.
LMFAO THATS EPIC FAILURE ON A GRAND SCALE! how'd you explain that to her parents?

I think you should have looked. That's what I would've done.
Everyone's gotta see naked girls sometime. But you could've [should've] asked a sales person if you've never bought Manga before. Or at least found one age appropriate. Sure you didn't get the color code, but you could always ask. Or flip through it. Or the old "ask her what her favorite is". At least you know she read it? I get books all the time when people are like, "Oh, you like fiction right? Here's these books about wizard-wannabes." I never read them.
