Dexter? Is that you?

Today, I apparently didn’t teach my son the difference between defending himself from bullies and knocking out the bully's teeth, breaking his nose, cracking his ribs, and grinding his fingers under his boot until the bone splintered. Yes, the cops are involved and my ex-wife blames me, of course. FML

Sounds like the bully picked the wrong victim. Seems to be happening a lot these days. Hopefully, Putin will get the same come-uppance as this bully. Good thing the bully didn't steal your son's chocolates!

Take this with a grain of salt, I was severely bullied from 4th grade until 7th. In 7th grade I mentally snapped and went batshit on the bullies putting several in the hospital between the middle school and neighborhood bullies. and it did greatly deter the bullies until high School when I had to deal with a whole new set, so I just simply took out the biggest baddest bully in high school as a freshman and nobody bothered me for the rest of the 4 years because I had a reputation of going psycho and they knew if they got in a fight with me one of us was going to the hospital.

this is like the South Park fight episode

Sounds like the little shit deserved it and your ex-wife is just being a bitch. Your son did the right thing.

Not really. Yes he deserved to be punched, but once the threat is over, you can’t keep attacking. I may not agree, but that is the law. Just like I can’t shoot someone in the back and claim self defense, because the threat was over.

These kids have to be around each other all the time. I don’t know if one punch would be sufficient to deter future bullying. The royal ass-kicking the kid dished out should be enough, and while it’s over the line and very unfortunate that it would come to that, the case can easily be made that the kid didn’t have much choice.

It doesn’t matter. My friend had to pay the hospital bill for the kid his son (who was a foot taller) whupped. The judge ruled that because the threat was over after my friends son knocked him on his ass and the kid tried running away, everything that happened after ( the broken arm, and ribs from kicking him while down after tripping him) was unjustified.

If your son is old enough, he could benefit from a few lessons from the friendly neighborhood policemen about appropriate responses to a threat. Or maybe some self-defense lessons at the local dojo will do.

If he was being antagonized or physically assaulted that warranted that type of beatdown, he did the right thing in neutralizing the threat in the long term. Bullies always get what's coming to them and justice was served. I'm proud of your child.

Yikes. Hopefully this bully won't be messing with anyone again, but yeah, your kid went a bit too far. And even if you did try to show your son how to stand up for himself without beating a bully to a pulp, if your kid was pushed too far, he may well have snapped when he went medieval on that bully's ass.

I have a feeling the bully deserved it, but not to the out of beating him half to death. I have seen this type of bullying in a lot of Korean school dramas and it is heart breaking to watch it
