Disappointment

Today, I went to the bathroom on the way to class. After washing my hands, I couldn't figure out how to turn off the water. I finally resorted to asking a professor for help. She turned it off, looked me in the eyes and said, "Please don't tell me you're here on a scholarship." FML

How do you not know how to turn off the water? Better yet, how'd you even turn the water on in the first place?

Probably the opposite of how you turned it on....

Well now you know...sinks at colleges are a bit weird...

How can you turn the water on but not off?

I'm trying to picture how you turned on the sink, but can't figure out how to turn it off. it's not making sense in my head. Hmm.

How did you switch it on, but not off?

Hey taps/faucets are tough to master but you'll get it someday.

My first thought was: Really?!?!?! Then, like #8 said (about the PhD who can't change a light bulb), I had a flashback about a job I used to have... I worked for a government defense contractor, providing tech support over the phone. I was talking to ACTUAL Rocket Scientists and PhDs -- who had a hard time finding the power button on their PCs... (Thank goodness for software that allows you to login remotely!)

"Yes, I am, Professor. Ironically, mine is from the Future Plumbers of America."

Some of the sink designs we have are really irritatingly complicated.
