Today, my now ex-boyfriend called me over for an "important chat". This chat consisted of him not only insisting that we have sex whenever he feels like it, but demanding that I take birth control pills, because making him wear a condom is "sexist and degrading." FML
I agree, your life sucks 46 440

Isn't that technically sexual harassment? Regardless, tell him you're not his sex toy. Hope things get better

Because you know, birth control also protects against STDs.

You probably should take birth control either way. But yeah, your boyfriend sounds like a world class dick.

So many little girls on here its sad, if you are sexually active and you are relying on condoms only, you are the stupid one, as for the rest of you talking about side effects, do you have any clue how many different types of pills there are with different hormones and dosages? and did you know there aren't just pills for control? so many uneducated people on here trying to give advice its sad

Thank you! Reading these comments makes you think that only one really bad birth control pill is available... talk with your doctors, ladies!!

I guess with every new generation girls receive more info. I mean they have the internet! When I was a kid, moms didn't say too much about sex. Sex class wasn't that exciting or informative. They just invented sticky maxi pads. There were only 5 types of pills out there. (the one I took was okay made me feel sick and less sexy) When my mom was a teen, it was TABOO to ever bring it up. Condoms were 2 types and 2 brands. Diaphragms were new. Kotex was wore with a belt. No **** tapes or sex shops. Just dirty mags with black boxes over the private parts. Lol

Some people cannot take any type of birth control, most involves hormonal control which really messes up some people. For me I need to stay on the one type of pill as that one reduces the growth of cysts on the ovary, however that pill does cause mild side effects in me. I'd rather a slight loss of libido (and i do mean slight) and a few headaches and a few weepy moments to an op and a possible loss of the ovary. I had five cysts removed after being off the pill for a year (trying for a baby) i dread to think how many I would get without it permanently. So no the girls on here are aware of the different kinds but all carry side effects and there are many different reasons for taking them. Condoms should be a perfectly safe form of protection as long as you follow the instructions, there is no need to supplement it unless you want to.

161: Try to be less judgmental. Yes, there are many forms of birth control with many different dosages, but it basically comes down to hormonal, barrier, or the IUD (the copper one or the one also with hormones). Barriers can be a pain in the ass, as you have to stop to put them on/in and are easy to forget. Hormonal ones: yes there are many different types. Which mean many different ways to **** with someone's body. Before I went on the pill, I had 2 migraines in my life, regular periods, no mood swings or depression, and a healthy sex drive. I went on the pill and got migraines (went away after a month), no periods (have not had one in a year), lower sex drive, and mild depression (not like suicidal, but I had anxiety and was unable to feel happy about anything). I switched pills. Now no depression, no mood swings, sex drive back to normal (mostly), but now I get migraines every week. Not to mention scientists have only just started looking at the possible long term effects of birth control ON THE BRAIN. The fact is, whichever hormonal form/type/dosage of birth control you take, there will be some side effects. You just have to find the one that has the side effects you can live with.

Contedefees (#226) - I agree with you, but an IUD /is/ the copper one, the IUS is the one with hormones. Also, some women will probably not have any effects from birth control, but they're probably in a minority and/or just happened to have found a "perfect" one for them.

Isn't making you use bc pills also somewhat sexist and degrading? They're both bc measures...sheesh what an ass

If he is your ex, than leave him that way and don't re-date!

LOLOL but yeah tht was rude of him slap him in the face

WAY TO GO for actually DOING something about it instead of continuing to force yourself to stay with that piece of trash. A+ FML
