Doozy

Today, I had an ingrown toenail cut out, and the pain medication I received doesn't actually help with the pain. Instead, it makes me high, which results in me losing my balance and slamming my injured toe into objects, and then getting sick from that new pain. FML

Sounds like the kind of situation that would keep you on your toes.

What medication are you taking? it sounds like it is not having the desired effect. Call your doc.

Thinking you should probably stop using that and switch to some over the counter stuff. Just stay away from blood thinners. Soaking your foot in Epsom salts is also really helpful for the pain.

You don't get high if you take the recommended amount... YDI that shit

Call your doctor they'll give you something new.

what doctor do you have? I've had around 8 ingrown toenails and they have never gave me pain medication.

Which is precisely why you should not be walking around on the same day that you've had a minor surgical procedure on your toe.

I think getting one of those medical boots wouldn't be that bad of an idea or get a new medication or don't move unless you absolutely need to

You got medication for that? Where the **** was my meds when I got mine done, I was in damn agony. I was basically not allowed to do much of anything for the first few weeks after it. You should be resting.

I will never take medication like that. I don't care if I get arthritis all over my body, it's not worth becoming yet another painkiller addict.

I always just cut a "V" into my toenails if/when they grow like that. big side toward the root, pointy end toward the end of the nail. dont cut deep enough to go through the nail. .. long story short, it pushes the nail up instead of into your flesh.

Having had 2 in-grown toenails myself when I was younger, I feel your pain for sure. But look on the bright side, once you recover from the surgery, they will be pain free, or at least mine are. Much better than the constant bleeding from even the slightest touch they used to be (prior to removal).
