OP I'm sure you don't want to break up with him because you love him, but he is trying to tell you he wants to be with other people and keep you around in case things don't work out with the other people. It's hard to walk away, but staying will only make you feel bad. You are too special to be treated this way. I know it's not what you want to do, but if you walk away now, you'll have a better chance of finding the right guy for you.
