Doughboy

Today, I was selling cookie dough for a fundraiser at an old folks home. One lady ordered a box and told me that she loved cookie dough. I told her it'd be here in four weeks, she said, "Oh I can't wait!" Not really thinking, as I left I said, "I hope you can make it till then!" FML

That's horrible. :/ PS - why does an order of cookie dough take 4 weeks? o_O

I don't really get how this is a FML. It just sounds like you're an insensitive jerk.

this isnt an FML for you, but an FML for the old lady if she heard your comment

#11, you're right, I didn't even think of it that way when I first read this FML. Good point :]

#18 we in the US also take home uncooked pizza over here and bake it at home. supper fresh and hot.

Oh man, that's messed up! But totally easy to slip and do. I work in a nursing home, and I always just talk to the residents completely normally. It's not like you can one hundred percent focus on NOT saying death-related things to nursing home residents, or else you'll start to treat them really weird and they'll notice and feel bad about that. Honest mistake, but still one that made me wince. LOL

brilllant, sheer brilliance!

Meaning, make it till then without the cookie dough she loves, right? I read this and thought people probably wouldn't understand that. So they all think it's your fault for being mean. Haha.

I think given the context, the old lady understood what you meant. Given the way she was talking, she probably has a personality that would laugh at such a thing.
