Why would you do that to a teacher you know wouldn't take it well? It doesn't matter what subject he taught (seriously, way to pick up on the unimportant stuff), but if you knew he didn't have a sense of humor, YDI. When I was in middle school, my class locked our french teacher out of the room for about five minutes, but she thought it was hilarious. If she had been the sort of give us all detention, then obviously, we wouldn't have done it. Next time, realize that while pulling pranks can be fun, it only works if BOTH sides have a sense of humor, especially in the teacher-student relationship.
