Today, hoping to seal the deal on a promotion, I had my boss over for dinner. My dad, who lives with me, started ranting about homosexuals burning in hell. My boss’s daughter is a lesbian. Now my dad’s nose is broken and I fear for my job. FML

Today, I found out that my daughter is dating my boss's daughter. I found this out because my extremely homophobic boss told me and wants me to 'heal' them or get fired. I didn't even know my daughter was gay. FML

Today, I had my boss over for dinner. Knowing that I was angling for a promotion, my fifteen-year-old son spent the dinner uttering lines such as "What's the point of showering before bed?" and "Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks." My boss was not impressed. FML

Today, my horrible parents turned up to the restaurant I work at just to mess with me. Dad forgot his wallet, what a surprise, and asked me to pay the bill. I refused so my manager got involved. My dad got arrested, I got fired and might lose my lousy flat if I’m late on the rent. FML

Today, yet again, my boss whined to me like a baby over being "friend-zoned" by his secretary. Not only does he basically stalk her and make her eat lunch with him every day, she's a lesbian in a committed relationship. He suspended me after I lost it and told him to see a fucking therapist. FML

Today, I brought my daughter to work with me. When we walked in, a client was blowing up at my boss, all because as my boss was walking past his storage unit, he glanced in and was about to compliment how neat it was. After my boss left, I had to deal with the aftermath, which left my daughter terrified of this man. FML

Hopefully your boss is reasonable enough to understand that just because your father is homophobic, that doesn’t mean you are yourself. But knowing stories about bosses on this app, I have a feeling that’s he probably isn’t.

Not that I think it was appropriate for anyone to hit anyone, but yes, I think it's reasonable for the guy to be more worried about losing a job he needs, and was about to be promoted at, than that his dad got a broken nose. I've had mine broken. It's not a big deal. Having to live with a loony, and losing the job that might help you not have to live with the loony is a big deal.

This strikes me as one of those "what did you expect to happen?" Moments. I assume you know your dad well enough to know that this was a bad idea. Still, hopefully your boss doesn't punish you for your dad's actions.
