Today, I went to a family counseling session because my parents are getting a divorce. I told the counselor that I feel guilty because I feel like I caused it. She says that there is no way I could have caused it, that it's my parents' problem when my mom interrupts her to say, "Yes she did." FML

kids are never the cause of a divorce. the parents just suck

I've heard of this happening sometimes when the wife becomes jealous of the attention that the father pays to the daughter.

you're mom is a bitch. You can tell her I said that too. Feel free to cite this as proof

That's pretty ****** up to take a kid to see a psych for apparently the express purpose of laying the guilt on the kid. Even if the kid is an ass, she is the parents' ass and is the product of their upbringing. In any case, kids are not emotionally or mentally developed enough to know how to deal with all their parents' bullshit, and it is up to the parents to shield the kids from some of that. In this case the OP had better grow up really fast or else she will become even more ****** up than her mother.

Hey come on there is no way its your fault! and even if it was as a parent you don't say it is you work through it! If mom is that petty you're all better off without her.

Wow. You're mom's both immature and full of shit. She's responsible for her own decisions, the same as your dad. Good luck, 'cause it sounds like you're going to need it.

For future reference, that's the part where you start explaining to the therapist in detail how your mom is the cause of all of YOUR problems.

Cut yourself off if you can. If if you're getting blamed for their problems it's best not being around them at all.

What a bitch! She's in denial and looking for a scapegoat.

Oh my god, i'm so sorry. Don't listen to your mom, she's a bitch. You in NO way caused it! Your stupid mom is just finding someone to blame because she caused it!

gees dont believe any of that B-S there is no frigging way that you caused the divorce. I'd stay with your dad... at least he hasn't blamed you for crap you didn't cause

I'm so sorry that your mom is a bad parent. Good luck getting through all this shit, and keep going to counseling, it REALLY helps.
