Wait, did OP follow the directions or not? Because the wording kind of sounds like he/she did, and then explosively shat it all out. BUT who can be sure...
That sucks. They say to take it with food to prevent stomach pain. The reason the diarrhea happened is because the antibiotics killed a ton of bacteria in your system, so your body needed to get rid of it quickly. The best way to combat this is to take acidophilus - and even better, a capsule with acidophilus, b. longum and the other good bacterias - with each dose you take of antiobiotic. You must take probiotics with food, so that there's the best chance of the good bacteria making it to your intestines. Be aware that probiotics can cause diarrhea for a day or two, as the bad bacteria is overrun by the good, but since you had that reaction anyway to the antibiotic, you wouldn't notice it. The best probiotics say to refrigerate after opening, and I prefer capsules, since they're easier to take. Good luck.
Jaguaress is right, acidophilus is good, or at the very least eat yogurt. One time I didn't eat yogurt or take probiotics with my antibiotics because I forgot, and I woke up at 3 a.m. with incredible stomach pain (and went downstairs and ate some ******* yogurt). So you're probably just one of the people that's sensitive to antibiotics, but this is normal...and would probably happen even if you did take it with food. It sucks. I feel your pain, dude. But get some probiotics and you'll do better.
op: guy or girl?
you soooo ******* deserved that. these instructions exist so you don't have to make a stupid mistake. so now you do know what you are supposed to do
Instructions are there for a reason. YDI
ACTUALLY although some antibiotics can give you stomach upsets, the reason they put take with food is to do with the absorption characteristics of the drug. Food changes the gaastric pH and some drugs can only be absorbed at a certain pH. SO if you want to be a douche and ignore the instructions your drug will not be absorbed and you are effectively wasting your money :) Lesson to everyone in society that always thinks they know best: you don't
@#9 It's not always because of side effects that they say to take with food. Most of the time it's because your body absorbs it differently when it's actively releasing digestive enzymes, so you're probably losing effectiveness from taking it on an empty stomach.
well...they don't tell you to take it with food just for fun...there's a reason for it

Don't blame the anitbiotic. Calculus can give you the *****. Especially if you have a bad teacher.
