OP if this is out of character for you, consider taking steps to reduce your stress levels. If you have a lot on your plate it might help just to talk to someone about it. Not to mention, moving out on your own for the first time can be scary...it was for me.
What was your cat doing that that was your thought? Also at what point did you check to see what it was? I would've called the cops. When I was very young I was by myself late at night and my mom had a huge backyard. I could've sworn I saw what looked like someone sneaking around. Called the cops and they checked couldn't find anything. They were happy though that I called incase there really was someone there.
You know how to prevent that? Stay in the kitchen where you belong.
If that was the case, why start crying?
sounds like a cat burgalar
this sounds like me, but my defense is grabbing a weapon, not crying.

He was really trying out his dream job of becoming a cat burglar. It's all part of the master plan.
Don't feel bad OP! I'm convinced my cat is a robber or ghost sometimes!
