The law in America actually says no legal tender may be refused, so unless it wasn't American currency or you live out of state then I hope you counted it. I've done it before to. $500 in pennies. And yes. It took a long tone
That is not entirely true. US law does allow for shops to enforce certain rules allowing them to refuse if too money coins are used for example.
What a bitch of a mother to not have the decency to take that money to a bank or coin star to cash it. I would've been pissed. FYL
