There should be a law passed that one can't pay over a certain amount, like $50, in complete change. It's just a hassle to count out of there's no change counter and you have to do it yourself.
Try $20 and even then only in quarters.
23 - I've paid in that before. I even helped the cashier by counting it out while I was handing it to them. If you actually help the cashier instead of expecting them to do all of the work, it doesn't take as long.
A law? Really?
It's not a law, but businesses can chose not to accept payment in coins. For example were I work, the maximum amount you can pay in coins is $5.
58 - I didn't say there needed to be a law. I said there should be a law. There's a difference.
81 - If you don't see a difference, you should probably go get a dictionary. A law that "needs" to be in place is there for the good of the people. A law that "should" be in place would be helpful in creating less annoyances, but isn't necessary.
92 - I was pointing out that "need" and "should" don't mean the same thing. I wasn't intending to make any sort of attack. If you took it that way, well, it's not my fault.
Money money money... Money!
What a pain in the ass! Especial when you're almost getting off work. Even banks won't accept loose change unless they are all coin wrapped. ***I used to have a homeless guy come into my job, asking to convert his change into dollar bills. It was always around $5-$6 and easily over filled my register. I can't imagine $200 being a walk in the park.
While it was admirable of the mother to teach her child the value of money like that, it was extremely inconsiderate of her to expect someone at the counter to tally up 200 dollars worth of change. Did she come in five minutes before closing time?
This should be on it made my day and not here.
At the least it was 800 coins...
Most likely! 5 minutes before closing with over $200 in change... all you'd need now is for it to be Black Friday.
True sentence "Boy. Now you can get the game easily. But if you spend this money to buy the machine, it'll be removed from your hand soon. $200 is really big money. 20,000 children in Africa can live if they have. I guess it's very hard to save. However do you want to get? Of course, I admire your
Everyone complaining is acting like whiny-assed snot-nosed little bitches. Take a straw and suck it up. If anything after working a 12 hour shift the OP should appreciate the fact of how long it took the kid to save that money. $200.00 would take 25 hours to earn at $8.00 dollars an hour, which I am guessing is close to what the OP makes. Imagine how long it took the kid to earn it.
Some places don't take too much in coins, because it would take too much time to count. You could have said that they have to go to bank and change the coins. Probably. I would have done that. It's adorable, that the kid had his own money, but still.
