Today, a young boy helped me carry my groceries home. He then asked me to sign his sheet to certify that he had done half an hour of service to the elderly. I'm 46. FML

Don't be offended. All kids think anyone over 25 is old. I remember in elementary school, I thought my teachers were SO OLD! Then I ran into a couple of them 20 years later and they were only in their 50's. Don't take it to heart, you still have a few decades before you are actually "old."

I kinda know what you mean OP, except it's the opposite for me. I'm 25 and I look like I'm around 12 or 13. Whenever I go into casinos and bars, I still get carded because I look really young, ugh. They're always like are you 21? You must be since you were able to get into the casino and bars.

Don't worry, you'll learn to love it. I used to feel the same way, but now I look at it as flattering when I get carded. I still do, and I'm almost 30. Wait until you're 50 and people are telling you you look 40! Be grateful instead of whining! :)

HaHa! Yeah it sucks to hear but, it sounds like something I would have said when I was younger (and probably you too). Take advantage of it. Make him earn his 30 minutes and then have him come back and do it again next week.

Yeah, it's becuase to of the mentality that people who's older than you by a few years are well, elderly. At my part time job, young kids call me 'Uncle' and i'm only 16. not that I look old, mind you. Same applies to my co-workers of the same age.
