Well damn.
Everyone needs to love out of their parents house.... It sucks that they are doing it on your 18th birthday, but it was going to happen sooner or later
Yeah, just love it out. Give that house one big hug!
think of it as parole.
Wtf, you're only 18. You're just now an adult and figuring out things for your life. Any parent just willing to kick their child out (because most hate the thought of them leaving) is a terrible parent. I'm sorry that the parents you have are such assholes. FYL. Wish you luck on finding somewhere to stay.
While I agree kicking out is a tad harsh, I honestly don't understand how anyone would want to live under their parents roof a day longer than they need to. I moved out of home just after Christmas the year I graduated highschool... I just needed to get the hell out of there and start my own life.
My dad said I'd be kicked out if I didn't go to college after I graduated high school. Payed for college without any help and now he's kicking me out for no reason. I live in Orange County, CA, so housing is really expensive for someone my age. It's a financial thing too for some teens.
69 - I wouldn't want to live In my parents house forever, but at least long enough to get enough money and get through some of college. I just think kicking her out as soon as she's 18 is a bit messed up.
If parents really want their child out at 18, they should tell them in advance so the kid can be prepared.
.....they did
I meant like years in advance when the kid is old enough to get a job.
47 - Most kids I know don't have to assume mommy and daddy are gonna take of them forever. It's common knowledge. I know some who were out weeks after high school graduation. Most stay during the summer to prepare better for college, military or just plain moving out.
What is common knowledge for a society is not usually the same common knowledge for a teenager. Smoking is socially accepted common knowledge as toxic and uncool, but teenagers still start smoking anyways. Therefore, an advanced notice for a teenager to mentally prepare to be kicked onto the curb at 18 seems appropriate.
It is ****** up that they did this on your birthday. Hopefully they will help you find an apartment.
their reason? We want to build over and redecorate your room, now that you'll be leaving of course- right OP?
geez peuple they dont kick a kid out it's an adult.

The mama bird has to kick the baby bird out of the nest eventually. The baby bird should shit on the nest before it leaves.
I can't figure out why people like that have kids. Honestly, it's incredible, kicking your child out like that ._.
