Gimme the drugs

By Richmond24 - This FML is from back in 2010 but it's good stuff - Canada

Today, I got all four of my wisdom teeth out. My mom didn't get my prescription for painkillers because she thought I'd get addicted. FML

Taking a lot of ibuprofen isn't that bad for you as long as you don't take it for a long period of time.

WTF is wrong with your mom?!?!? When I got all 4 of mine out, I went 1 hr without painkillers and I thought I was gonna die

I had 2 pulled today and told the dentist i was all set with a script! suck it up!

actually I got all my wisdom teeth pulled awhile ago and other pain killers like store bought brands work to

ya i think my sis will need them cuz when we went to dentist a few days ago the pic said tht he has 6 wisdom teeth and will be getting surgery in a couple of years. and they could mess up her teeth

I hate painkillers. After my bone surgery I was on 4 types and my body went crazy on me. Constipation, horrible dreams, light sensitivity and nausea. I lost about 15 lbs in a week sitting on a recliner.

FYL if you got the 'roids too. I feel your pain. Post-op is a nightmare.

Yeah, post-op really is a nightmare, what with all the hormone supplements, and.... wait.... oops.

check Mom's purse. I think you'll find she filled the prescription. but not for you...

Please. The only thing really uncomfortable about having your wisdom teeth removed is trying to eat. I had mine removed early in the morning, and still went into work for four hours. Then continued on to spend six hours in college classes during which time I gave to presentations. Take an over the counter pain medication and stop whining. If this is the worst thing you've encountered in your life, you don't deserve pity.

actually i have dislocated my shoulder 3 times and had to pop it back in myself cuz my mom couldnt be bothered to take me to the hospital, but YOU in all your infinite wisdom knew that you must read minds assuming that one problem is the only one ive gone through, btw i was also in a car crash thanks to my mom, because she wasnt paying attention at an intersection, got t-boned and put my head through the side window so getting 32 staples in my head must be a lot easier than going through a ******* presentation. GO **** YOURSELF FOR THINKING YOU KNOW ME.

Wow, your mom has caused you a lot of pain... :/ 154, ever think that maybe people have different experiences? And different levels of tolerance to pain? It hurt a LOT after I got my wisdom teeth out, I could never have done the things you did.

NTM that teeth and jaws vary vastly from person to person. Some people have relatively easy procedures and recoveries; others, not so much.

I didn't assume anything, I said 'if', which is a supposition of uncertain possibilities. While those things were highly unpleasant, they're just part of everyday life experience. You're not the only person to survive such incidents. So why don't you call the doctor's office, tell them you've lost the prescription you had, get them to fax it to your pharmacy, and go pick it up yourself if it's really that painful to you? Or send someone else to pick it up if you are without transportation. You're obviously not eight years old and are therefore not without alternative options to simply complaining on the internet.

I'm glad you are standing up to the stupid assholes on this site.

I've dislocated my shoulder 5 times, popped it in myself each time because I'm afraid of needles. I'm refusing surgery for the same reason.

219: I don't know any doctors who will replace lost or stolen scripts for narcotics, and I absolutely don't blame them a bit. You know how easy it would be for people to abuse that?

My dad did the same thing when I broke my wrist. I came home from the hospital with a full bottle of codeine and it disappeared the next day. Found it later in his coat pocket. Hmmm... OP, check your mum's purse.

Aww that sucks, OP :( If your mom doesn't want you taking the painkillers you perscribed maybe she can take you to the doctor and get you Tylenol with codine. That's what I have and it works really well. It's just really strong, and it gives me a bad stomachache. It also makes you feel kind of out of it, so be careful and feel better!
