Today, my dad told my mom to hurry up or they'd miss the start of their concert. She said, "I'm coming, I'm coming…" and without thinking, I blurted out, "That's what she said." They're super religious, and I'm now grounded till January. FML

Just be glad they didn't make you get down on your knees and beg for forgiveness. Wait. Just be glad they didn't get out the whip for you flagellate yourself with. Damnit! Just be glad they didn't dole out some religious punishment that doesn't also sound like it was torn from an S&M instruction book.

Tell your parents to grow up for grounding you. Do not accept that punishment for something that was a mistake. Plus they're ridiculous to ground you that long.

It is the parents' fault BECAUSE they are super religious. They took a simple statement that is supposed to be humorous, if a little crude, and blew it up into epic proportions. If it was anyone else, the OP probably would have only gotten a simple "ew gross" or something like that. But because they are religious, they gave the OP a six month grounding instead. They seriously need to grow up and get over themselves.
