Today, while changing the litter in the cat box, the brand new carton ripped open, spilling all twelve pounds of cat litter over my kitchen floor. Both cats promptly rushed over and began frantically urinating all over it. FML

OP here. The carton of new litter was in the kitchen with the rest of the groceries I had brought in. Litter box is in the laundry room off the kitchen and it broke on the way there. woops!

Hey. They're trained at least. They went on what they knew was their bathroom material and not, say, an expensive article of clothing or electronic.

Your cats must have really needed to go. I don't think either of my cats would be arsed to do that if I spilled litter on the floor. (Especially not my fat fifteen-year-old. She hates moving.)

Some Cats are really obsessed with new litter, too. When I used to change the boxes for my mom her cats would come running when they smelled it and heard it being poured.

I clean the boxes every evening. we have 3 (2cats). As soon as the first box is clean they use it again... It can't be because they wanted to use a clean box... normally they only use 2. randomly one is not good enough for a few days. because cats!

My cat sat in the box and pissed out once. Now we have those dog pee pads under it. Cats are assholes, but it sure is a funny mental image.
