Today, my swimming coach made us swim fifty laps non-stop as punishment for his previous class being unable to swim a drill properly. They're 8-11 year olds who are still learning to swim. I feel like my arms and legs are filled with lead. FML

I remember when my volleyball coach punished us for missing more balls than the 8 year old team. This makes since younger children were doing better than us we deserved. You on the other hand didn't FYL for sure

Trust me I know how that feel ive been on a swim team for 8 years my coach have done that before :( unfornetly she used to tie us to bungie cords until we could reach the other side of the pool then we would be dragged back and repeat this until ur body gave on u

That's not illegal and it's not punishment. I mean, doing it until you can't anymore is sort of punishment but my team does bungees all the time. They're not that bad. They're actually pretty fun.

They can be fun but staring at the bottom of the pool floor at hours on end isn't as fun a u think does ur coach out weights on u as u swim??? Like leg weights and wrist weights those things leave a rash

OP said coach, not teacher. I think that implies team, right? But then again, he also said "previous class". It's a mystery. I've been on a swimming team before, and nothing like that has ever happened to me.

I think a lot of coaches do things like this. According to them they have done it already and it's our turn now. If they show me that they can do it before us then I would gladly do it without complaining.

Oh please, try 200 laps non-stop. That's what my coach made us do because we didn't make an interval. ONE interval.

We used to have to swim 500 laps, uphill both ways!!!
