Helicopter parents

By that girl. - 06/06/2012 05:26 - United States

Today, instead of having my friends come pick me up, my dad drove me over to visit them. He insisted on walking me up to the door, hugging me goodbye, and making sure my friends were appropriate enough to hang out with. I'm in college. FML

You're still their little girl~ But yes, that is a bit embarrassing...

well there could be worse, like he could join you with your friends.

YDI. You're in college and you have to have someone pick you up and drop you off to a friend's house? You are old enough to drive, you can even take a bus there. If all else fails, walk. You are too old to have your parents drive you around like they are your chouffers. Grow up!

He probably just doesn't want his little girl to grow up. It's normal, and just be lucky he loves you (:

Everyone giving OP crap for not having her license obviously hasn't considered that she just doesn't have a car. I'm a college graduate with a 40-hour-a-week job that I just got, and I sitll can't afford a car. College students are in the worst shape financially in this economy - they're thousands of dollars in debt and have little to no way to pay it off, much less make rent and car payments and buy food and other necessities. It's very common for many college students/graduates to still be living at home with their parents. Those of you saying she should get a car need to wake up and face the reality of the situation thousands of people are in. Congratulations that you're financially secure and perfect, but not everyone is that fortunate.

That's so cute!! You'll realize when you have a child one day :))
