glad I'm not the only one who noticed the it instead of he or she. if you care so much wouldn't you call it by it's gender or even it's name?

OP clearly doesn't cares. Not only the way they talk about the kitty, but also the whole "whatever" attitude about losing a cat, as if it was an old sock rather than a living being/part of the family. Some people just have no hearts. :(

First of all you're all riding way too much on the "it" and 75 please enlighten me on how you were able to read this person's emotions and come to the conclusion that OP has a "whatever" attitude about the cat being lost... wouldn't that defeat the purpose of OP posting this? its psicology, when a person associates with an animal they refer to it by gender, they humanize it please if i do have mistakes correct me its hard to learn english

But then what's the point of getting a cat if you aren't dedicated? No one is saying that you have to keep an eye on him 24/7, but if he's deaf, then you should constantly check in. Nonetheless, even if he's not deaf, you should still watch him.

Not if he or she is an outdoor cat. Best thing you can do then is get a chip, a good collar, and get them in at a routine hour before the sun comes down everyday.
