Today, after my mother, who was a loving and gentle soul, died, I’ve moved in permanently with my stepmom, whom I’d never met. Her very first words to me were, “Let me make one thing perfectly clear: I am your mother now. If you make even ONE mistake, I will literally rip your fucking throat out.” FML

it's time to inform your dad of what she said. also tell her "if you touch me, I will make sure the cops are on your ass so much, you will think they are part of your body"

Maybe see if you can get a friend or other family to take you in and be your legal guardian. If you’re a minor a cps call may be in order in the near future. Or you could just become Cinderella

Literally? Tell the local police that if you die from having your throat ripped out, your stepmother is their prime suspect. If you die by any other means, ask them to charge her with aggravated murder (aggravated by the fact she misused the word "literally.")

Call the police. If you're a minor, call CPS along with the police.

This is the saddest FML I’ve read in a really long time. OP, I’m very sorry for your loss, and that you have to now live under the thumb of this psychotic person on top of that. What a ******* terrible person. I hope that your dad is supportive of you and that the living situation actually isn’t that bad. If it truly is, like everyone else said, try to find alternate living arrangements with another relative if you can, and document ANY abuse, including verbal threats, and call CPS if it comes to that. We’re rooting for you, OP! Good luck, much love, and bless you for the time you had with your loving and supportive mom ❤️❤️

I am very sorry for your loss and your current situation, OP. If you are able to find another place to stay, that could be another option

I'm sorry for your loss and that your father married such a horrible person. If you're a minor, is there any way you can stay with another relative until you turn 18? I'd also report the threat to the police.
