It only sucks if that is how you measure your excitement op.
Time to get out and make some friends
Boo hoo, crybaby. Many of us work holidays, but not all cry about it.
I worked on Xmas Eve, boxing day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's day!
Don't worry OP, I worked both NYE and NYD, not exactly my plans but I know all will be well next Tuesday when I get paid :)
TBH if I'd worked new years eve I would have had a blast, depending on what your job is it might not be that busy and you might be able to get away with having a bit of fun and slacking off a bit. I honestly don't do much if anything for NYE, I'm not much into parties and drinking, and I don't go to any of the city events because it's crowded and I hate people. I often stay home alone or just hang out with close friends or family. Last night I just stayed home, and played games and chatted with people online to ring in the year. I still had a blast, I still absolutely love NYE even when it's hardly any different from any other night of the year. It's just what you make of it. You can easily turn it into a great night. Working it could possibly suck, but if your workplace allows it you can still make it a bit fun (too late for this NYE of course, but still).
Worked 18 hours newyears day! The feels! So tired I didn't even go home, I slept in my car. HNY!
Personally I couldn't care less about New Year's. I celebrate my years at life milestones, a year since this, a year since that. Some people really don't care, and that's fine, I take it OP cares…

As I write this I just finished working part one of my 24 hours total covering eve and day.
I switched from an evening shift to a day shift so I could go spend it with the neighbours - and they went somewhere else!
