I know that sound

Today, I was caught going on Facebook at work. I was called into my boss's office to be reprimanded, and while he was lecturing me on the importance of staying focussed and the misuse of company property, his computer beeped. It was his Facebook chat notifying him of a new message. FML

this is like how teachers can use cell phones in school but kids can't.

You were getting told off for something you really shouldn't have been doing anyway, and then catch your boss doing the exact same thing. That's more of a MLIA.

******* around on Facebook Like a BAWS! Hypocrisy in a corporate hierarchy? Get used to it. Your boss knows what you make, but you dint know what he makes. Is that fair? Look you are not going to get any justice through any official channels. If you really are pissed about it, **** his wife.

Exactly! To set things right, you have to gruntle on the boss's wife like a **** star. Make her gruntle like a piggie! Sometimes it's just no fun to wait on karma to straighten things out;)

Next time I try to be funny I'll keep that in mind.

have you ever tried to be funny? seems like most of you comments are pretty much " your wrong" or " your not funny"

Freeze: Shut up. Nobody asked you to comment on someone else's comment. So shut the **** up. And being funny is all opinion. dumbshit.

sounds more like F the boss' life.

This isn't hypocrisy... the boss gets to make the rules. So put in your time and work your way up. When you're the boss, you can use Facebook at work... if that's what's important to you. Until then, you can either follow the rules or find another job. But whining about the boss' behavior won't do anything for you.

You can sit and do nothing if you're in high places.

you can also sit and do nothing if you're high in places

Hey to everybodys response about kids shouldn't have cellphones, shut up! It makes parents feel better that kids have them for communication purposes! If a kid is going out with a friend to the movies and needs a ride back, what is he or she going to do! Their parents would be worried sick!

Yeah, but it pisses teachers off if the phones ring during lecture time or if the student is texting and not paying attention.

You know.. there are these magical things called payphones. *gasp* No kid NEEDS a cellphone. I wasn't allowed to get one unless I paid for it myself and I didn't bother getting one until I was almost 17. It was used in emergencies only, like when my car broke down in the middle of nowhere. Missing the bus is not an emergency. (I know you never said anything about missing the bus, that was to #20) Also, if you were going to the movies with a friend, you would arrange for transportation BEFORE you left.

Obviously cell phones aren't a necessity, but why does that mean kids shouldn't have them? I'm sure you have many items you don't absolutely need, such as the computer you're using. Older generations have always criticised the technology and culture of the younger generations, from rock music in the 50s to video games in the 80s to cell phones in the 00s.

... Payphones hardly exist anymore, lulz.

The argument isn't rather kids need cell phones. The argument is whether it's a necessity for adults (specifically teachers) but not for kids. It's not a necessity for adults either. Especially when the adult is a teacher who is supposed to be teaching since despite what some people say past experience has shown that most teachers (especially younger ones) will stop lecturing in order to talk on the phone about nothing. That's actually worse than kids texting in class because teachers are at their job and expected to perform their job duties not chat with their friends about what movie to see this weekend in the middle of class.

If the kid had no cell phone and still went to the movies with a friend and needed a ride back... the kid could use the friend's cell phone. The stupid fact is that not long ago no one in a classroom had a cell phone... and somehow all those cell-phone-less people survived the experience. No kid needs to have a cell phone in a classroom, and unfortunately it's very unrealistic to assume that all kids can be mature enough to handle the responsibility of not using one during class.

Then don't let them have texting. They cant exactly make a call during class without getting caught, and yet, if something comes up and they need to call someone, they can.

It's retarded to say "people survived without this technological advancement in the past, so we shouldn't use it!" That's the point of technological advancement; to give us things that past generations didn't have that make our lives better, easier, safer, etc

The term is "Do as I say and not as I do" and that is how bosses become bosses.

someday when your the boss you can have your double standards... until then, get to work!
