YDI for using the company's time for your own personal use. That goes double for getting caught.
Personally, it doesn't matter if he is the boss or not. The boss should lead by example. So if he is going to break the rules himself, how can he expect his employees to follow the same rules he is breaking himself? if I was this guy I would take it to HR just for the simple fact that he was dumb enough to let his Facebook notification go off while yelling at him for something he himself is doing wrong.
Yea, it is a good ideal because once he starts playing with my payroll or tries firing me, it then turns into a legal matter. Didn't I see earlier that someone has already proved that you are not the brightest one on this site. Go worship your abs in the mirror. BTW,I workout all the time and can say something and I don't have the need to show everybody how great my "abs" are. I guess you only get like that when you are conceded; but, hey have fun with yourself little man and start thinking a little more about your comments before you write. FYI, go back too English class maybe then people will take you seriously and can understand you a little better.
Of course MCSS you have a strong case there....... Lawyer: "What was the reason he fired you?" Employee: "Because he said i was on facebook on the office computer during time that he was paying me to work." Lawyer: "Were you?" Employee: "Well yea, but he still didnt have the right to" Good one.... now your not only out a job.... but you would be out the money you paid for a lawyer.... I give turning this into a legal matter two thumbs up as a plan too....
You have made an argument there; but, I have seen it done before. Especially when your in the IT field because the manage later had the employee work on his computer and he got the evidence to prove it. The manager ended up losing his job for giving him a pay cut and yelling at him like an idiot. Now the employee still works there with his original pay reinstated. Just to show you the boss is not always correct. The boss could have handled the matter much better, considering he was breaking the same rule himself.
Like a boss! This should be a MLIA
Lol to all the people saying kids shouldn't have cellphones in school, that just stupid. I go to a private school and the rule is just, unseen and unheard...
I was just in a slightly similar situtation, OP (Original Poster, for those who don't know), so I think I can relate. On Tuesday I took my AP bio midterm. Before my teacher handed out the exam, she said: "I would like everyone to turn of their phones, please." My teacher then proceeded to take out her own phone from her purse and show us turning her phone off. 30 minutes later, however, (I was sitting in the front of the room) I look up and see my teacher texting; I also saw the other teacher (who was assigned to also proctor the exam) texting (and saw her texting at least 4 times). Now, granted...it was a 3 1/2 hour exam, but still, I found that a bit hypocritical. I can understand where you're coming from, OP. But, at the same time, he's the boss, so he's going to abuse his privilages of importance and assume he can go on Facebook...just because he's the boss. Also, in slight fairness to your boss, you are a worker and should be doing your work. @#47: As you can see from my story, not all teachers are wise with their cell phone usage during school; not all of them have the maturity and discretion to use them only during emergencies.
This is not an FML, this is an MLIA.
well he is the boss lmaaoo
That's really more of a FHL...

this is like how teachers can use cell phones in school but kids can't.
You were getting told off for something you really shouldn't have been doing anyway, and then catch your boss doing the exact same thing. That's more of a MLIA.
