Today, I had to call the doctor to go and have them remove a tick that had got stuck to my man-parts while fishing. The receptionist laughed, because she thought I was prank calling. FML

Going to the doctor is very excessive for a tick. Put a drop of baby/motor oil, or petroleum jelly on it. Let it suffocate then when it pulls its head out of you, gently pick it up and throw it away. As long as its removed the first, you should be fine, especially considering there are only 3 types of ticks in the US that carry Lyme disease. Don't squeeze the tick though because it will basically vomit back into you and can even vomit its intestines into you, so even with the head out its inards could be in you and transmit the disease.

um, it's not that hard to remove a tick. I went camping once and woke up with them all over me! you just pull them off... why would you call a doctor?
